Youth Co:Lab positions young people front and center in order to solve the region’s most pressing challenges. Co-created in 2017 by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Citi Foundation, Youth Co:Lab aims to establish a common agenda for countries in the Asia-Pacific region to empower and invest in youth, so that they can accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through leadership, social innovation and entrepreneurship. Youth Co:Lab has been implemented in 25 countries and territories across Asia Pacific: Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Fiji, Hong Kong (SAR), Indonesia, India, Japan, Malaysia, the Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor Leste, Vanuatu and Viet Nam.
Context
This assignment aims to contribute to the United Nations’ efforts in supporting youth entrepreneurship and fostering economic growth, which aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The mapping exercise will help identify and document successful initiatives that have enabled and empowered youth entrepreneurs. The gathered insights and best practices will promote knowledge sharing and inform future strategies and policies aimed at fostering youth entrepreneurship.

Task description
We are looking for 2 experienced Online Volunteers who, under the supervision of the Strategic Intelligence Hub will support the mapping of best practices (policy and programmatic) on enabling youth entrepreneurship ecosystem. More specifically, the Online Volunteer is asked to:
1. Define Objective and Methodology: Collaborate with the project supervisor to clearly define the objective of the mapping exercise. Discuss and establish the methodology that will be employed in the mapping process.
2. Tool Development: If necessary, develop or identify a methodology tool for data collection specifically designed for mapping best practices within the policy and implementation aspects of the youth entrepreneurship ecosystem. Propose an implementation plan for the tool.
3. Data Sources Identification: Identify and screen data sources relevant to the specific aspects of youth entrepreneurship ecosystem. These sources may include reports, case studies, toolkits, policies, organizations, and online platforms that works towards creating an enabling ecosystem for youth entrepreneurs.
4. Data Collection: Execute data collection using the defined methodology and tools from the selected sources. This includes gathering information on successful initiatives, strategies, and key players in the field.
5. Report Preparation: Create and prepare a comprehensive report capturing the findings of the mapping exercise. The report should highlight best practices, successful models, and strategies that can be applied to enable youth entrepreneurship online.
Requirements
Required experience
Candidates should possess an in-depth understanding of data collection concepts, qualitative/quantitative research methodologies, and the ability to evaluate best practices, including but not limited to policies, programmes, initiatives and youth-led actions. An advanced degree in a related field is considered an advantage.
