Scope of Work:
Under the supervision of the Child Protection Manager (GBViE), the consultant will be responsible for completion of the following deliverables:
- Contribute to the planning, implementation of and follow-up on the virtual workshop on strengthening capacity of social service workforce to respond to GBV in humanitarian crisis with participants from at least 5 countries;
- Finalize the draft guidance for strengthening SSW on responding to GBV in humanitarian settings;
- Pilot the draft guidance on strengthening capacity of social service workforce to respond to GBV in humanitarian crisis in one country;
- Contribute to the finalization and dissemination of the new resources on strengthening capacity of social service workforce to respond to GBV in humanitarian crisis.
The consultancy will be home-based with travels to emergency-affected contexts relevant to the above tasks, as feasible.
Terms of Reference / Key Deliverables:
- Workshop report (including detailed recommendations for the guidance development) finalized and approved
By 30 June 2024
- Outline and key sections of the draft guidance developed based on the workshop feedback
By 31 July 2024
- Draft guidance developed based on outline and workshop feedback
By 15 September 2024
- Draft finalized (including integrating comments from stakeholders at HQ and from the 5 participating countries)
By 15 November 2024
- Mapping of SSW in selected pilot country and actors finalized
By 31 December 2024
- Pilot report (including detailed recommendations on changes to be made on the draft guidance) finalized
By 1 April 2025
- Guidance finalized based on the pilot feedback
By 15 May 2025
- Accompanying tools (e.g. training materials) finalized
By 30 June 2025
- E-learning module developed and uploaded as part of the Strengthening SSW for Child Protection Agora course
By 31 August 2025
- At least one global dissemination event organized
By 15 September 2025
Qualifications
Education:
- Master’s degree Public health, social work, political science, human rights and international law or other related degree, or equivalent programming experience
Work experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years relevant experience, preferably including GBV programming in humanitarian contexts.
