Duties and Responsibilities
Support to IDPS Events and Engagement:

  • Support the organization of IDPS virtual and in-person meetings;
  • Prepare reports and readouts for IDPS meetings;
  • Support timely follow up to IDPS’ internal and external engagement;
  • Maintain an updated calendar of relevant events to identify opportunities for IDPS engagement;
  • Monitor global policy making efforts to support the identification of IDPS advocacy and engagement opportunities.                          (% of time spent – 40%)

Support to IDPS Knowledge Management and Communications:

  • Prepare regular news and media monitoring reports on IDPS-related developments;
  • Support development and dissemination of IDPS newsletter updates;
  • Draft social media posts and support social media campaigns;
  • Support capturing and disseminating lessons learned from IDPS’ internal and external engagement;
  • Support coordination with communication focal points in IDPS constituencies and in the alignment of communication efforts across IDPS constituencies.   (% of time spent – 40%)

Others:

  • Additional tasks as required to support the IDPS Secretariat and the Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding team to support linkages between the work of IDPS and UNDP’s broader work on peacebuilding.    ( % of time spent – 20%)

Required Skills and Experience
Education:

Candidates must meet one of the following educational requirements:

  • currently in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree; or
  • currently enrolled in a Master’s degree; or
  • have graduated no longer than 1 year ago from a bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent studies.

Field of study: International Development, Political Science, International Relations, Conflict Studies, Social Sciences or equivalent.

IT skills:

  • Knowledge and a proficient user of Microsoft Office productivity tools;
  • Knowledge and proficient user of digital meeting tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.

Language skills:

  • Excellent command of English and French is required;
  • Knowledge of other UN languages is an advantage.
