Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support IRC’s Survivor Services team in providing trauma-informed, person-centered services to participants, including direct support and supervision of Family Wellness & WARN Advocates, a team of 5-7 staff
  • Utilize IRC’s People Management Standards including regular team and individual meetings, clear expectations, effective feedback, and responsive support
  • Ensure provision of high-quality services through training, coaching, case consultation, guidance, resource and referral information, and other supervisory level support to direct services staff individually and in a team setting
  • Support team with time management, workload management, managing staff balance and well-being, maintaining professional boundaries, and protecting against burn-out and secondary trauma
  • Provide support to WARN Advocates at IRC partner organizations API Chaya and REST including support for participant support plans and direct financial assistance
  • Manage incoming program referrals in partnership with Family Wellness & WARN teams
  • Support team to provide crisis intervention, needs assessment, information, referral, and related response to individuals seeking services
  • Respond to participant needs in a supervisory capacity including participant grievances or consultation relating to services provided
  • In partnership with the Survivor Services Director, manage all direct financial assistance budgets, keeping track of all spending under various direct assistance funding streams
  • Review and consult on participant support/self-sufficiency plans and coordinate provision of financial assistance
  • Enter intake, service, and outcome data into IRC’s services management database, “Evidence to Outcomes” (ETO)
  • Review and update intake paperwork and process, as needed
  • Facilitate monthly WARN all team meetings
  • In collaboration with Survivor Services team, contribute to continuing development of Advocate Toolkits
  • Identify and engage additional community partners and resources to enhance service and support options for participants and ensure entire team have access to newly developed resources
  • Ensure timeliness and quality of case reporting into provided data systems and maintain case files with all required documentation and information
  • Ensure accurate, high quality data tracking and accurate, timely reporting in compliance with all program funding requirements
  • Support program evaluation and assessment activities
  • Ensure ongoing learning, training, and development of Advocate team through a variety of training opportunities including webinars, live training workshops, on the job learning, coaching, documenting lessons learned, client feedback, etc.
  • Engage in regular training and professional development opportunities to further knowledge of relevant topics
  • Comply with all policies, procedures, and protocols of the agency
  • Other activities as needed and assigned

Key Working Relationships:

Position Reports to:  Survivor Services Director

Position Supervises: IRC WARN & Family Wellness Advocates/Case Managers, interns, volunteers

Other Internal and/or external contacts:

Internal: WARN Team, Family Wellness Team, Resettlement Team, Employment Team, Immigration Team, Youth Program Team, New Roots Team, Health Empowerment Team, Volunteer Coordinator, Finance Team, Operations Team, Development Team.

External:  API Chaya, REST, KIND, Northwest Justice Project, Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, Seattle Police Department, US Attorney’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, Washington Advisory Committee on Trafficking, City of Seattle Human Services Division, Washington State Office for Crime Victim Advocacy, Washington State Task Force Against Trafficking in Persons, and additional partners.

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience and deep understanding of  vulnerable populations, serving survivors of harm, trauma-informed approach, and person-centered services
  • Proven experience providing crisis intervention, trauma-informed information and referral, and needs assessment to survivors in crisis and/or seeking assistance
  • Direct experience with a human rights-based approach to human trafficking
  • Practical understanding of existing systems and resources related to human trafficking and survivor support, particularly in Western Washington
  • Demonstrated experience working with criminal justice systems and personnel to support and advocate on behalf of survivors of harm
  • Strong collaboration, advocacy, and negotiation skills; experience working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary partners and in a multi-cultural, professional environment
  • Strong intercultural communication skills: demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and across language diversity
  • Public speaking and professional group facilitation and collaboration experience and abilities
  • Committed to anti-racism and continual learning and growth
  • Comfortable working in high-stress environments; must be adaptable, flexible, and patient
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to contribute both independently and as a key team member
  • Excellent problem-solving skills combined and the proven ability to prioritize duties and manage time effectively
  • Professional proficiency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written required; proficiency in other relevant language(s) considered
  • Proficient with Windows operating system and confidence in basic computer skills (word processing, email, data entry)willingness to learn new software
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area
