Technical writer – Consultancy to elaborate the UNICEF Brazil country guide

SCOPE OF WORK:

The country guide information is pre-defined, and in accordance with other UNICEF offices globally. Once concluded, Human Resources (HR) will integrate the guide to a webpage at Brazil Sharepoint. Hence, under the supervision of the Human Resources Officer (HRO), the consultant will be responsible for gathering the information of each Brazil Zone office according to a pre-defined list of requirements provided by HR.

The document must be written in English and will be reviewed by the HRO.

DELIVERABLES

Report with information on each Brazil Zone Office (Brasilia/DF, Belém/PA, Boa Vista/RR, Salvador/BA, Recife/PE, Fortaleza/CE, Rio de Janeiro/RJ, São Paulo/SP, São Luís/MA e Manaus/AM) as follow:

• Geographic and Climate
• Climate, weather and geography.
• History
• Politics of government
• Economy
• Religion
• Culture and customs
• Language
• Currency
• Measurement
• Electricity and Appliance system
• Security
• Food and groceries
• Social recreational activities
• Keeping fit
• Medical facilities
• Recommended vaccinations
• Educational facilities for expatriates
• Banking services
• Postal services
• Customs & duty, VAT refund
• Housing, real estate agents and Domestic help (obligations, agencies)
• Telephone and internet
• UNICEF location, office structure, office working hours, office holidays, dress code, staff association

The report must be delivered in WORD, Excel and PDF format.

DURATION OF CONTRACT: 30 calendar days (from 15 November to 14 December)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENT

• Academic qualification/level of education: secondary education or graduation in communication, tourism, or any related area.
• Experience in gathering information, complying, and preparation of informative guides and/or internal communication papers.
• Proven written skills in both English and Portuguese.
• Solid experience with word, excel and PDF formats.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

• Fluency in English and Portuguese (both reading and writing).
