SCOPE OF WORK:

  • Work closely with Education team to support the preparation, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of educational projects that contributes to the guarantee of children and adolescent’s rights with the participant municipalities of Seal UNICEF and the UNICEF City Agenda, as well as in the states where the area has partnership projects
  • Collect and analyze inputs and data on programme activities, results and strategies in order to elaborate strategic Donor Reports and/or donor proposals.
  • Monitor data and information from education projects, considering the achieved results in relation to UNICEF mission to the guarantee of the rights of children and adolescents.
  • Monitor data and information related to the management of special projects such as “Education and Climate Change”.

 

DELIVERABLES

  1. Work Assignment 1

Work closely with Education team to support the preparation, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of educational projects that contributes to the guarantee of children and adolescent’s rights with the participant municipalities of Seal UNICEF and the UNICEF City Agenda, as well as in the states where the area has partnership projects

 

1.1.   Deliverables/Outputs

1.1.1.      Monitor results, activities, objectives, goals and implementation deadlines of projects in the education area, in order to support the preparation of partnership reports.

1.1.2.      Prepare a workplan on monitoring, implementation activities and technical assistance to support the educational team activities on the last period of Seal UNICEF (2021-2024), related to RS1 and RS2 and its activities, from January to June 2024

1.1.3.      Develop 2 to 3 conceptual notes on educational strategies that is being developed under the scope of Seal UNICEF and UNICEF City Agenda until the end of the contract.

1.1.4.      Participate, when needed, in online Education Workgroup Meetings, as well as, specific meetings to ensure timely communication, collect data to support donor reporting requirements.

 

1.2. Timeline    Accordingly to the below table

Collect and analyze inputs and data on programme activities, results and strategies in order to elaborate strategic Donor Reports and/or donor proposals.

2.1.  Deliverable/Outputs

2.1.1.        Develop, update and monitor “Donor Reports schedule table” with dates, expected timeframe, deliverable, required tasks and status on a weekly basis.

2.1.2.        Develop 05 to 06 strategic reports and/or donor proposals, as per defined by the Programme section and/or corporate team, ensuring timely submission and with high quality standards following donor’s contract conditionalities and defined deadlines

2.1.3.        Liaise with Education colleagues from Brasilia and Zonal offices, and from other areas in an online format, as needed, to organize demands derived from donor’s proposal and reporting whenever necessary

Monitor data and information from education projects, considering the achieved results in relation to UNICEF mission to the guarantee of the rights of children and adolescents.

3.1.  Deliverables/Outputs

3.1.1.      Develop a monitoring tool that will contribute to accompany project implementation accordingly to the AWP, including a validated process with colleagues from ZOs.

3.1.2.        Data analysis from education strategies and projects to support the needed information on internal meetings of the area, with other programmatic areas and external organizations to UNICEF.

Monitor data and information related to the management of special projects such as “Education and Climate Change”.

4.1.  Deliverables/Outputs

4.1.1.        Collect data and information regarding the initial implementation of the project, activities, deadlines of special programs such as “Education and Climate Change” in close collaboration with the Chief of Education and both Education Officers and focal points at zonal offices, implementing partner and the 04 secretariats of education.

4.1.2.        Develop specific monitoring tools to ensure the follow up and implementation of the “Education and Climate Change” project deliverables.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENT

  • Degree in Management, Education, Psychology, Sociology, or other social science field is required.
  • Advanced University degree (equivalent to Masters) in education or in related area.
  • A minimum of 7 years of professional work experience at national or international levels in relevant Education programs. Experience in UN system agency or organization is an asset.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English is required. Knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an asset.
  • Knowledge on children’s rights issues, including the Convention of Rights of the Child and the Statute of the Child and the Adolescent.
  • Experience in content production and project management.
  • Teamwork skills and capacity to work with tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge in the use of digital media tools and social networks.
  • Experience in the production of materials for learning programs or content for social mobilization initiatives.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

Excellent writing skills in Portuguese and English
