Major Responsibilities: 
The role will serve as a primary focal point and liaison between the private fundraising teams and country office teams for all aspects of business development and grant management. The major responsibilities will span across all grant lifecycle stages and include:
 
Champion new funding needs (30%):
• Develops concept notes and general proposals for prospective donors on identified RAI funding needs, including maintenance of internal funding need database (SNAP);
• Ensures that RAI funding needs and priorities are well represented across high-value fundraising teams on an ongoing basis, and proactively shares information, and advocates as needed on behalf of RAI;
• Partners with Resource Acquisition and Management team and RAI Technical Units to strategize about and implement the amplification of funding needs, and identify new areas of work that can be proactively worked up and offered to new partners and donors; 
• Facilitates internal info sessions and brown bags with RAI program teams to support fundraiser understanding of program issues
 
Private funding portfolio management (60%):
• Partner with Resource Acquisition and Management team and External relations to maintain an up-to-date record of all private sector partnerships in the program to inform effective and timely delivery of relevant updates and monitor burn rates on relevant grants;
• Supports RAI technical units, programs, and high-value fundraisers to apply internal procedures and systems such as OTIS (IRC’s grant information tracking system), for private funding portfolio and ensure SNAP entries are up to date;
• Maintains up-to-date OTIS records; supports the allocation of revenue to programs in together with Global Donation Operations teams, and ensures timely notification of RAI programs on award receipts
• Coordinate with internal teams to maintain efficient gift processing and notification procedures to reduce delay on gift disbursement; 
• Provides project management support on large multi-site or multi-year opportunities and grants as requested.
 
Process Improvement (10%): 
• Responsible for establishing the foundation for the development of processes and systems that would advance our private-sector partnerships pursuits;
• Coordinates with Resource Acquisition and Management team to augment RAI-ER collaboration efforts, chiefly advancing the RAI-ER integration efforts within External Relations;
• Reviews and proposes improved processes as needed to help reduce time, and ensure appropriate partner sign off, to align private sector donor and program timelines;
• Serve as interlocutor and advisor to RAI on GPPS and ER processes; ensure key high-value organizational updates are efficiently cascaded to RAI in collaboration with RAM.

Essential Qualifications: 
• Approximately 6 years working in private sector fundraising with at least 3 years working in similar programmatic areas to RAI;
• Demonstrable experience of running and monitoring large, multi-sectoral and multi-country private sector partnerships and working across various teams and functions;
• Knowledge of the drivers and motivators for support from corporations, foundation, wealthy individuals & faith and membership based organizations, and experience working directly and supporting private sector fundraisers;
• Experience in developing and leading successful complex proposals and providing impactful reporting for high value donors;
• Ability to effectively manage and coordinate with geographically dispersed teams throughout all stages of the private grant lifecycle;
• Experience managing donor compliance, budgeting, negotiating agreement provisions, technical and financial reporting;
• Understanding of the private donor mentality and pace of work and the differences from public funding culture;
• Ability to analyze and synthesize information and excellent attention to detail;
• Willingness and ability to regularly travel to the program sites
• Outstanding people skills and cross-culture communication;
• Solid organizational skills: ability to be flexible and in a fast-paced multi-task team environment;
• Language skills: English required; proficiency in another language relevant to RAI programs is a plus.
