JOB DESCRIPTION
The incumbent will convey to the JPF Senior Programme Manager and work closely with the Deputy Fund Director and the Programme Specialist in carrying out analytical work for JPF, performing systematic monitoring and study of political and conflict-related developments in Myanmar and provide strategic guidance to inform the JPF’s support to stakeholders’ efforts to mitigate the effect of the conflict on communities, prevent further fragmentation, and prepare for an eventual political process that would ultimately lead to tolerable peace.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in political science, peace and conflict studies, or other appropriate social sciences domain.
- A first-level university degree (e.g. Bachelor’s) in combination with 2 additional years of progressively relevant background may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
- Minimum five years of professional background in an international institution, donor agency, NGO or INGO working on context analysis, public policy or political research, or peace and conflict monitoring in/on Myanmar.
- Sound knowledge of Myanmar’s conflict context and the associated stakeholder landscape.
- Proven capability to write analytical, understandable and simple reports on conflict dynamics and carry out analytical desk reviews.
- Acquaintance applying analysis to programming that is relevant to the nature and scope of JPF’s mandate is highly preferred.
- Background specifically on Gender, Women Peace and Security related analysis is an advantage.
- Sound understanding of data and database management and quantitative research software is required. Experience with GIS mapping is an advantage.
- Articulate spoken and written Burmese.
- A professional level in written and spoken English.
- Understanding of any other Myanmar ethnic languages is desirable.
