TASKS
The duties for Coordination Officer at UNV Japan are:
- Aid confirming appointments with the key stakeholders
- Help logistic performance for the ASG/RBA Director mission including transport, accommodation, meeting venues, and other necessary items
- Help logistic arrangement for the outreach events including venue, interpretation, guest rooms, working meals, and other necessary items Briefing/Reporting support
- Support collection and printing of briefing packages for the ASG/RBA Director
- Support draft of assignment report for the ASG/RBA Director Communication Support
- Asset compilation and printing of communication/visibility materials including handouts/banners/brochures
- Support drafting of transmission products targeting Japanese media and audience including the release and social media
- Conduct any other tasks assigned by the Office in consultation with the supervisor. Furthermore, UN Volunteers are required to:
- Reinforce their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and taking active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day);
- Be with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country; Reflect on the type and quality of voluntary action that they are undertaking, including participation in ongoing reflection activities;
- Contribute articles/write-ups on field backgrounds and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.;
- Help with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers;
- Foster or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering, or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.

QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements for Coordination Officer at UNV Japan are:
- 3 years of background in a Bachelor’s Degree in in international relations, economics, administration, social affairs or related field is required.
- At least, 3 years of skilled experience including minimum 2 years of experience in event management and/or coordination is required. Hands-on background with international organizations and/or working experience in development cooperation would be highly considered.
Bachelor’s degree or equal in Administration, event management
- English understanding Level: Fluent, Required
- Japanese understanding Level: Fluent, Required
- French understanding Level: Working knowledge, Desirable.
