TASKS

The duties for Finance and Administration Associate at UNDP are :

  • Assure the provision of aid to the GCF project team on enforcing financial management strategies, including phasing out the project.
  • Assure adequate support to enforce operational administrative and logistical services
  • Assure project partners have good capacity to handle UNDP’s funds while assuring UNDP and donor compliance requirements.
  • Any other project-related assignment assigned by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements for Finance and Administration Associate at UNDP are :

  • Secondary education (GCE A/L) passed with all subjects is needed or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or Public Administration. (Educational qualification should be from an accredited University
  • Secondary Education (GCE AL) with seven (7) years of progressively responsible work background in finance and administration OR Four  (04) years of relevant, progressive background will be sufficient if possessing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited University.
  • Knowledge and previous working experience under Government financial regulations will be an asset.
  • Experience in utilising computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages; experience handling web-based management systems is an asset.
  • Background in handling general project administration and management of logistics is an advantage.
  • Illustrated capacity to undertake assigned responsibilities and work under pressure is desirable.
  • Illustrated background and knowledge of relevant UN or UNDP financial rules and policies will be an asset.
  • Previous experience with UNDP/UN system or in the development sector would be an advantage.
  • Fluency in Sinhala and/or Tamil with outstanding English written and oral/presentation skills.
