The World Food Programme (WFP) is a leading humanitarian organization that provides food assistance worldwide, supplying food aid in crises and working with neighborhoods to enhance nutrition and build resilience. WFP is governed by an administrative board consisting of representatives from 36 member forms and provides intergovernmental support, direction, and supervision of WFP’s activities. The organization focuses particularly on assisting powerless groups such as children, pregnant and nursing women, and the elderly.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Schedule, facilitate GALs consultation and sensitization forums with key stakeholders to assure ownership and active support of GALS.
- Improve partners capability through Training of Trainers on all phases of GALS to ensure rate and correct understanding of the procedure including the tools.
- Capacity-building and gender training for WFP staff and executing partners to; enhance their exhibited clear understanding on the nexus of social inequity as a key cause of food insecurity, malnutrition and inequalities and important to the men and women in the neighborhoods where they work, thereby fostering their motivation and adherence to the process.
- Sustain the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) and other associates to execute field testing in two youth farmer groups where applicable in selected locations and adaptation of materials in order to establish community ownership from the outset.
- Help the Ministry of Gender, children and social defense to train district staff, and field test with community groups in 2 selected locations.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced university degree identified by https://www.whed.net/home.php in rural or social growth disciplines or another appropriate field, OR a first university degree in the same fields with additional years of experience.
- Moreover, At least five (5) years of progressively liable professional post-graduate experience working in the rural or social development sector associated to gender.
- In addition, A proven experience of at least ten (10) years in rural growth.
- Gender specialist with extensive geographical experience in several contexts. Experience in the Ghanaian context is an added benefit.
- Furthermore, Proven background in Gender Action Learning Systems (GALS)
- Experience in supporting local partners (government, CSOs, NGOs etc.)
- Proficiency (level C in reading, writing and speaking) in English.
