UNICEF, or the United Nations Children’s Fund, is an agency of the United Nations that donate humanitarian and developmental support to children over the world. It was originally initiated in 1946 to give emergency food and healthcare to children and mothers in countries devastated by World War II. UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to defend the rights of every child, especially those who are vulnerable. Its activities include giving immunizations, disease prevention, and treatment for children and mothers with HIV, as well as strengthening childhood and maternal health. JOB DESCRIPTION
The goal of this role is to manage, coordinate and provide support on digital health programming in the East Asia and Pacific region. Under the direction of the Regional Immunisation Specialist, this role will be responsible for program planning, design, performance and monitoring of main digital health programs in the region.
The Health (Technology for Development) Specialist will aid a multi-country initiative (Cambodia, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Philippines, Timor-Leste, Vietnam, PNG, Fiji, Kiribati and the Solomon Islands) on investments aiding digital health and immunization. In addition, the role will support the country office in coordination and technical project management in the performance the newly funded digital health project funded by the Government of Japan and other initiatives related to immunization programs including through GAVI support.

QUALIFICATIONS
- An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Public Health, Digital Health, Health Innovation, or another relevant specialized domain.
*A first University Degree (Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent) in a relevant field combined with a minimum of 7 years of professional background may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree. - A minimum of 5 years of appropriate professional experience in public health management, digital health, and health invention in a large international / development organisation
- Having country work background and/or familiarity with humanitarian emergencies is considered an asset.
- Fluency in English is a requirement; knowledge of another official UN Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a regional language in East Asia & Pacific is an asset.
