ABOUT UNICEF
UNICEF, or the United Nations Children’s Fund, is an agency of the United Nations that donate humanitarian and developmental support to children over the world. It was originally initiated in 1946 to give emergency food and healthcare to children and mothers in countries devastated by World War II. UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to defend the rights of every child, especially those who are vulnerable. Its activities include giving immunizations, disease prevention, and treatment for children and mothers with HIV, as well as strengthening childhood and maternal health. UNICEF relies wholly on voluntary contributions from governments and private donors.
TASKS
The requirements for International Consultant at UNICEF unjobs.asia are:
- Develop a long-term strategy and annual work-plans, including M&E framework for the collaboration with FBOs on child wellbeing, with focus on immunization.
- Collect and present for the consideration of national partners materials/tools, trainings/quick orientations that are developed by UNICEF global and worldwide that have successfully contributed to promoting vaccine uptake via religious leaders.
- Adjust the global tools to the local context in consultation with relevant partners.
- The expanded strategy, work plan and tools will be the basis for systematic and strategic engagement with FBOs for the child well-being and health.
- Desk assessment of strategy examples from other country offices of UNICEF, UNICEF global guidance and tools for cooperation with FBOs for child wellbeing and health and development of an inception report for strategy growth for the collaboration with FBOs – Inception report with proposed main areas of the strategy – July 2023;
- Stocktaking of materials/tools, training/quick directions that are designed and piloted globally by UNICEF and worldwide, and draft plan on the transformation of those that are suitable for the country context – Inception report on the tools and adaptation plan – October 2023;

QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements for International Consultant at UNICEF unjobs.asia are:
- Advanced university degree (post-graduation, Master or PhD) in social studies, health communication, religious studies or another appropriate major;
- Minimum of 5 years of appropriate background in partnering with FBOs, including the development of strategies and plans, adaptation of tools and training materials, conduction of trainings, and so on;
- Work background with UN agencies/UNICEF is an asset;
- Work background in Central Asia or in Uzbekistan is an asset.
