ABOUT ORAGNIZATION
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian association with 75 years of background in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for people affected by displacement. NRC Uganda advocates for the rights of expelled residents and offers assistance through its core competencies (CCs): Protection from Violence, Education, Livelihoods and Economic Inclusion, Information Counselling and Legal Assistance, Shelter & Settlement expansion, and Water, Sanitation & Hygiene.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Assure compliance to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, SOP’s and donor requirements
- Execute trusted logistic and administration functions portfolio according to the Plan of Action
- Conduct and follow up daily operating logistics and management activities
- Help the administration of resources so that deliverables are achieved within set budgets, timelines and ideals.
- Train and develop logistic reports as required by the Area office
- Support in the development of SOPs as requested
- Deliver appropriate filing of all support documents according to Securing Supporting Documentation (SSD) SOP
- Helpline leaders with logistics procedures and supply support with trainings related to logistics
- Line direction of the logistics and administration staff, including recruitment, capacity building and performance leadership
- Announce and share ideas for advancement of the logistic function

QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum four years background from working as Logistics Team Leader or Supervisor in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Prior background from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Reported results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Details about own leadership skills/profile
- Good understanding in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Fluency in English, both written and oral
- Understanding of the context of Southwest Uganda
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and supply chain management
- Postgraduate and or CIPS qualification will be an counted benefit
- Proven background managing stores in different locations
- Understanding of the local language typically used in Southwest Uganda, e.g Swahili is an benefit.
