JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties for Mental Health Screening Specialist are :
- Correspond and Perform mental health RHS-15 screenings as indicated with newly arrived refugees between 1 and 24 months post arrival as necessitated and identified by the Mental Health Program, and with individuals identified as needing mental health support.
- Enter whole data into RHOS system that interfaces with the Utah Department of Health on a weekly basis and track screen data regularly with Excel, Box, and the UDOH internal system.
- Express follow-up needs and referrals to individual treatment to Mental Health Screening Coordinator and assist with follow-up support for clients identified in need of extra support.
- Support program growth and development associated with screening and pathways to care – create protocols for supporting resources post-screen.
- Work with Health Access and Promotion to recognize ways to include mental health and wellbeing outcomes in holistic health plans for clients.
- Supply and Coordinate Transportation to/from medical and behavioral health appointments for newly arrived refugee clients
- Yield with all policies and protocols of the agency
- Use private, insured vehicle and/or public transportation (where available) to travel and transport clients and materials as needed throughout the service delivery area.
- Fund other health programs and office needs as needed
- May teach and lead the activities of volunteers and interns.

QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements for Mental Health Screening Specialist are :
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in mental health-related domain, Psychology or Social Work or comparable background
- Appropriate professional experience in mental health and/or human services field required; minimum of 1-2 years’ background strongly preferred; preferably with diverse/refugee population
