About NGO Jobs in Kenya-HU MEAL Coordinator
The health technical unit is divided into three sectors: nutrition, environmental health, and health (which covers comprehensive primary healthcare, including sexual and reproductive health, communicable and non-communicable illnesses, MHPSS, and child health). The goal of the Health MEAL team is to use data to plan, monitor, and evaluate projects as well as to support the gathering and dissemination of knowledge at a global level. The Health MEAL team is dedicated to the development of systems, tools, and processes that enable country programs to collect and analyze quality data across IRC’s health, nutrition, and EH programming. Additionally, we want to organize and support high-caliber evaluations and surveys that assist national programs in monitoring, assessing, and adapting their operations.
The Health Unit MEAL Coordinator will oversee the coordination of the Health Unit’s annual statistics process, update of core indicators, analysis of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and quality improvement data, support for the adoption of the Program Indicator Dashboards, and support for health evaluations, assessments, and routine monitoring for strategic projects at the country program level. The particular duties consist of:

- Lead the coordination of the Annual Statistics process, including liaising between the Measurement Unit, Technical Advisors and country programs to review submitted health data, ensuring completeness and identifying gaps, and leading the analysis of the data.
- Lead the coordination of the global efforts to monitor and evaluate Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) within health facilities and Quality Improvement (QI), including liaising between the Measurement Unit, Technical Advisors and country programs to review submitted IPC data, ensuring completeness and identifying gaps, and leading the analysis of the data.
- Lead the support to the Health Unit for their use of Program Indicator Dashboards as a way to support monitoring of program delivery
- Collaborate with members of the Health Unit and country programs to analyze M&E data, and to identify and document lessons learned related to health programs
- Provide capacity strengthening of Health Unit and country program staff about health MEAL
- Support data needs for health focused advocacy and communication
Requirements of the NGO Jobs in Kenya-HU MEAL Coordinator
Education:
- It is necessary to have both a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and a master’s degree in public health, statistics, or a related field. a minimum of five years’ worth of experience working in public health environments with limited resources.
Experience:
- Leading health M&E in humanitarian situations requires a minimum of 3-5 years of overseas experience. Knowledge of environmental health is a plus, and expertise and experience working on the monitoring and evaluation of primary healthcare are necessary.
Languages:
- French is strongly desired, and fluency in English is necessary.
