About NGO Jobs in USA-Finance Director

In order to guarantee that the Arizona offices have the proper financial infrastructure and procedures in place to support Arizona’s strategic vision and purpose as well as the organization as a whole, the Finance Director (FD) for Arizona offers the leadership and management required. Through focused and thorough financial analytical evaluation, the FD will be responsible for assuring and monitoring delivery against the financial goals as well as helping to build the strategic and operational strategies for the RAI program. The FD is in charge of directing the accounting and financial administration of Arizona program offices. Maintaining financial management procedures and systems that are in compliance with federal, state, and donor standards while also facilitating the successful deployment of Arizona offices will be a priority.

In addition to serving as the Executive Director’s primary finance business partner and adhering to IRC’s financial control environment and CFO standards and objectives, the FD will be in charge of all strategic and operational financial matters throughout the Arizona locations.

Responsibilities of the NGO Jobs in USA-Finance Director

  • Provide financial information to support the Executive Director and Arizona senior leadership team in making business decisions in line with IRC, Regional, and Arizona offices’ program strategies.
  • Continuously analyze the overall financial health of the Arizona offices and inform the Executive Director of potential risks and priorities to address.
  • Compile and provide feedback on annual operating and grant budgets across all offices to create Arizona budgets and ensure financial health.
  • Conduct periodic support visits to Arizona offices to provide direct support and engage with office-level staff.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests made by the Executive Director, RAI regional and/or HQ management, or Arizona offices.
  • Share monthly reviews of the financial health and risk identification with the Executive Director for action.
  • Proactively identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies in conjunction with the Executive Director.

Requirements of the NGO Jobs in USA-Finance Director

Education:

  • Graduate degree preferable; undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, such as finance, accounting, or business administration.

Experience:

  • Required: 5+ years of expertise in finance, budgeting, and accounting procedures; preferably in a grant-driven non-profit or social services setting.
  • 4+ years of direct staff management.
  • Advanced computer skills with a focus on Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook from the Microsoft Office suite. Proven knowledge of web-based data entry systems, with a preference for both data extraction and design.

Languages:

  • Both verbal and written English fluency; ability to converse in a refugee language is greatly recommended.
