ABOUT WFP
The World Food Program (WFP) is the top humanitarian agency that provides food aid in dire situations and collaborates with locals to boost nutrition and resilience. The United Nations created it in 1961 to aid in reducing global hunger. 80 nations are home to WFP offices, which have its main headquarters in Rome. The biggest humanitarian organization in the world, it is also the main supplier of school meals. In order to promote nutrition initiatives, policies, and programs, such as school meals and food fortification, WFP collaborates with governments, other UN agencies, NGOs, and the corporate sector.
TASKS
The duties for Program Assistant at WFP Chad are:
- Provide expert project administration support to specific and/or defined programs to ensure that various activities are delivered within stated objectives, in agreement with WFP policies and procedures.
- Review the planned movements and distribution of amounts or quantities of food products or non-food products, resolve routine problems and, if necessary, identify them in order to ensure that the amount distributed, the quantity distributed and the quality of operation are in line with WFP standards.
- Aid for the provision of standard trainings to cooperating partners on WFP operational practices in general and, in special, on results monitoring tools and methods to help partners monitor themselves independently and contribute to the visibility of WFP in the areas of coverage.
- Aid in consolidating, verifying and reviewing cooperating partner distribution reports on a monthly basis.
- Assure timely entry and verification of distribution data in the COMET WEB database and implementation module (partnerships, distribution reports, monthly data) to help track the implementation cycle of the stability program (partnerships, distribution reports, monthly data, etc.) by liaising with the Resilience Unit and the sub-offices.
- Gather and summarize data from projects or assistance programs, collaborate with sub-office staff as needed, conduct analysis and prepare a range of reports and data analysis (e.g. food assistance needs, resource utilization, program status, performance) highlighting trends/issues) to support program reviews and informative decision-making.
- Support the performance of monitoring data collection and management activities and reporting on the effects of resilience projects and programs.
- Reinforcement outreach to cooperating partners to gather feedback and feedback to support program reviews and improve food assistance to beneficiaries.
- Propose advances to field monitoring processes and procedures for effective implementation of assistance programs.
- Backing capacity building of WFP staff, cooperating partners and national government in the specific technical area. Provide direction to cooperating partners on WFP operational practices, food security and assessment tools and methods to assist them accomplish various tasks and contribute to WFP’s visibility in the areas covered.
- Serve as a point of contact for the solution of a series of questions and operational problems (for example the regular follow-up of the files prepared for the data group activities to lead to the various payments and the provision of supporting documents).

QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements for Program Assistant at WFP Chad are:
- Advanced university degree in economics, food security, statistics, economic development, performance management, monitoring & evaluation, geography, data science, public health/nutrition or other connected major.
- Have 3 years of work background, including at least one experience in the areas of monitoring and evaluation of resilience or climate change projects and programs.
- Strong technical skills in observing using the logical framework.
- Mastery of verbal and written transmission in French.
- Fluency in French (spoken and written) is demanded. Understanding of English would be an asset.
