The World Food Program (WFP) is the top humanitarian agency that provides food aid in dire situations and collaborates with locals to boost nutrition and resilience. The United Nations created it in 1961 to aid in reducing global hunger. 80 nations are home to WFP offices, which have its main headquarters in Rome. The biggest humanitarian organization in the world, it is also the main supplier of school meals. In order to promote nutrition initiatives, policies, and programs, such as school meals and food fortification, WFP collaborates with governments, other UN agencies, NGOs, and the corporate sector.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Evaluation Administration

  • Help the Regional Evaluation Unit to track and provide timely technical support and oversight for the planning, commissioning, and administration of decentralized evaluations and related evaluation activities. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Oversee and serve as a focal point for the evaluation Management Information System (MIS), coordinating and assuring the MIS is always up to date, reviewing and analysing MIS data when requested, responding to recommendations for information

Evaluation use

  • Help WFP’s evaluation culture of accountability and learning, working with internal and external stakeholders to improve learning from and use of evaluation evidence in policy, strategy and programme design and implementation, seeking advice where appropriate.
  • Blend and support reviews of Evaluation Management Responses and liaise with the Regional Monitoring team during routine follow-ups on administrationresponse implementation

Reflective practice, evaluation capacity growth & partnerships

  • Help the management of a planned regional Evaluation Community of Practice/Learning
  • Manage and track evaluation capacity growth needs and efforts in the region (including enrolment in the corporate EvalPro training)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • First University degree with extra years of related work background and/or training/courses or Advanced University degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Economics, International Development, Economics, Monitoring and evaluation or other relevant field. Experience within Monitoring and Evaluation expected.
  • Minimum of six years of progressively accountable relevant professional work experience in international expansion or humanitarian work.
  • Powerful background using a variety of quantitative and qualitative analytical tools and methods, as well as knowledge management.
  • Fluency (level C) in the English language. Medium knowledge (level B) of French is expected.
