ABOUT ORGANIZATION
The World Food Programme (WFP) is a leading humanitarian organization that provides food assistance worldwide, supplying food aid in crises and working with neighborhoods to enhance nutrition and build resilience. It was established in 1961 by the United Nations to help alleviate world hunger and is headquartered in Rome, Italy. WFP operates in around 80 countries and assists 80 million people each year. It is the world’s largest humanitarian organization and the foremost provider of school repasts. WFP is governed by an administrative board consisting of representatives from 36 member forms and provides intergovernmental support, direction, and supervision of WFP’s activities. The organization focuses particularly on assisting powerless groups such as children, pregnant and nursing women, and the elderly.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Aid in compiling factual information, to foster reporting and decision-making process.
- Aid in planning and preparation of area missions.
- Help in trial of security assessment reports after field missions.
- Reinforce compiling regular security reports and ensure relevant databases are accurately revamped at all times.
- Aid in the inventory management and supervision of security equipment, to ensure its
- appropriate functioning at all times.
- Aid in the crisis and contingency planning documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, International Relations or Law Enforcement or other appropriate domain.
- Currently enlisted in a master’s degree programme and have observed classes in the past 12 months, or a recent graduate from a bachelor or graduate programme (within six months prior to the application to the internship programme) ; or
- Graduated no longer than 1 year ago from a Bachelor’s/master’s degree or comparable studies.
- Fluency in both oral and written English is demanded. Knowledge of another UN language is a benefit.
