Tasks of UN jobs in United States – Digital Communication Officer:

1.  Continuous monitoring of and reporting on digital channel performance

  • Use a variety of digital analysis tools such as Google Analytics, SEM Rush, Hootsuite, TalkWalker, CrowdTriangle, native social media analytics and more to generate detailed monthly and annual digital performance reports.
  • Assure that every new external global digital platform and campaign includes the required technical implementation for data gathering and reporting.
  • Provide teams across DGCA with intelligence and insights as required.

2.  Strategic insights and proactive optimization of systems, content and channels

  • Provide timely and strategic wisdom on content performance (organic and paid) across various digital channels, and work with the respective teams to optimize content development and distribution processes.
  • Leverage social listening tools to inform actionable insights on trending topics ahead of major campaigns and in help of UNICEF’s ongoing priorities.
  • Proactively observe UNICEF’s Google Analytics to identify unusual traffic patterns, set up alerts, and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Advise on best industry practices and present the use of new features and tools to optimize digital monitoring and evaluation.

3.  Standard growth and capacity building

  • Develop capacity-building activities to ensure fundamental digital analytics principals are understood and enforced across UNICEF’s offices in HQ and in the field.
  • Provide analysis, analysis and recommendations for SEO, including guidance on best practices and integration with web platforms.
  • Develop analytics and SEO criteria, procedures and guidelines to ensure high quality of technical setup and implementation across all UNICEF web products.
  • Study and incorporate actional findings on the latest digital analytics, SEO industry trends and best practices.

4.  Technical performance and coordination with external vendors

  • Work closely with the Digital Governance and Platform team and with an external vendor to implement and configure precise analytics and user-friendly dashboards.
  • Provide expert direction and technical support for the implementation of A/B testing on the global unicef.org platform.
  • Regularly liaise with the exterior vendor managing the back-end analytics for the global unicef.org platform to address any ad hoc requests and problems raised by teams across UNICEF.
  • Partake in procurement-related activities to procure data analytics, SEO and social listening services.
  • Help the team in completing the migration from Universal Google Analytics to the new GA4, including the development of any necessary organizational guidance and troubleshooting in coordination with external vendors.
  • Help the global management of the Meta Conversions API and other advertising integrations across UNICEF websites.

Qualifications of UN jobs in United States – Digital Communication Officer:

Education

  • A first-level university degree in Digital Marketing, Business Administration, Management, Information Technology or connected field.

Background:

  • A minimum of 2 years of appropriate professional experience in digital analytics, SEO, digital media, or digital marketing.
  • Expertise in Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and SEO tools and methodologies.
  • Expertise in social media measurement, with background in all major platforms.
  • Expertise in paid media measurement, with strong understanding of advertising strategies and experience in Meta platforms, Google Ads and other digital channels.
  • Close understanding with social listening methodologies and tools.
  • Outstanding analytical and communication skills: capacity to communicate complex findings in an understandable way.
  • Solid knowledge of industry trends.
  • Outstanding writing skills and experience working with editorial and content calendars.
  • Background with work in the UN or a non-profit organization is a plus.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English is needed. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is an asset.
