2026 IBS Young Scientist Fellowships
IBS Young Scientist Fellowships 2026 are available for Research Fellow/Scientist degrees in the University’s Selected Subjects. Your application must be submitted before December 5th, 2025. The Institute for Basic Science (IBS) offers this fellowship, which is worth up to KRW 300 million annually in partial funding. All citizens are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria of IBS Young Scientist Fellowships:
This Fellowships requires the following qualification:
- All nationals are eligible for the IBS Young Scientist Fellowship.
- The candidate must be forty years of age.
- Five years prior to the application date, he or she must have earned a Ph.D.
- The chosen candidate has to move to one of the IBS Centers.
- The IBS Career Development Award (CDA) is open to YSF fellows.
- During the selection process, the research proposal and the letter of intent are assessed.
- Both a complete research proposal and a letter of intent must be submitted by applicants.
Benefits of IBS Young Scientist Fellowships:
This Fellowships provides the following benefits:
- The duration of the fellowship is up to 3 years with a possible extension of 2 years.
- A salary of KRW 60–70 million is included in the annual budget of KRW 150–300 million (up to KRW 150 million for theoretical areas and up to KRW 300 million for experimental fields).
