Afghanistan Rehabilitation and Development Program (ARDP) is an Afghan non-governmental, non-political and non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to fostering positive social and economic changes in Afghanistan. established in 2005 and registered with the Government of Afghanistan, under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy (MoEc) with a mission to contributes in developing and self-sustaining Afghan society through engagement in Health, Education and Agriculture.
Since 2005, ARDP has been actively involved in implementing over 80 projects, collaborating with reputable organizations and foreign donor agencies.

Job Description:
Environmental, Health and Safety Engineer will report to the Project Manager, his/her responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:
- Support the project on implementation of Labor management procedures and stakeholder engagement plan and its provisions.
- Preparation and implementation of ESMP (Environmental and Social Management Plan) in accordance with Environmental and Social Safeguards Requirements of UNICEF.
- Addressing issues such as pollution, accidents at work, noise control, toxic contamination, pest infestations, and waste management.
- Prepare Environmental and Social Safeguards monthly, quarterly and annually report.
- Managing hazardous materials, conducting training on the regular usage of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all individuals.
- Record and investigate incidents to determine the cause and to propose improvements to mitigate and prevent in the future.
- Ensure that all Health & Safety policies procedures rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed updated and communicated.
- Responsible for maintaining effective coordination with relevant local authorities’ communities and project staff.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging EHS regulations, industry trends, and advancements in best practices, and incorporate relevant changes into existing programs.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and develop strategies to minimize the organization’s ecological footprint.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and obtain necessary permits.
- Any other related tasks assigned by Senior Management Team (SMT).
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, social science, Engineering (or a related field)
- 4 years’ experience in relevant field.
- Able to speak in Pashto, Dari and English.
- Knowledge of computer MS office in word, excel, power point, and outlook.
- Able to go to travel inside the country
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
