About AKHS-A (Aga Khan Health Service-Afghanistan):

One of the most extensive private, non-profit health care systems in the developing world is Aga Khan Health Services (AKHS), which offers community health initiatives throughout a wide geographic region in East Africa and Central and South Asia.

Part of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), the Aga Khan Health Services, Afghanistan (AKHS, A) was founded in 2003. The Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) and Essential Package of Hospital Services (EPHS) offered by the Ministry of Public Health in Afghanistan are among the health care services that AKHS, A primarily delivers on behalf of the government. Offering vital health services across the spectrum of care, from Community Health Workers (CHWs) to hospital facilities with ISO certification, AKHS, A is exceptional in both breadth and size.

AKHS, A has been providing healthcare services in the provinces of Bamyan, Baghlan, and Badakhshan since 2003. Primary and secondary healthcare, preventive and curative medical treatment, nursing and midwifery education, human resources development, and hospital management are all included in the agency’s purview. The present mode of operation and function of AKHS, A in the provinces of Bamyan and Badakhshan as implementers of BPHS and EPHS. In addition to offering vaccination services, nutrition education, community health nurse and community health midwifery training, and technical assistance, AKHS, A also builds the capacity of health workers.

To continue providing supplemental and complementary support to the national health system, AKHS, A used funds from internal and external donors. Additionally, AKHS is a scale-up of AKDN innovations, such as cross-border agreements, e-learning projects, and e-health service extensions. AKHS, A is adopting net zero and greenhouse gas emission to create a healthy environment.

Job Description:

    • The data collectors will receive two full days of training or orientation based on the questionnaires.
    • Have good behaviors and approach with the community especially with children during the assessment.
    • Collect data of Early MAM program through the IMAM guideline and measure to minimize error.
    • Ensure timely submission of data.
    • Review all the forms and tools used for collecting data and make sure that the data collectors are familiar
    • Visit identified communities and conduct interviews in accordance with the methodology and tools.
    • Share information about the organization, purpose of the assessments, get the consent form signed and talk about the time right holders will spend for providing the information required.
    • Ask questions in a clear and kind manner and ask all the questions exactly as worded and create a friendly environment with community members.
    • Ensure responses are documented or recorded accurately in the system.
    • Probe to clarify unclear answers.
    • Double-check and revise the survey at the end of the survey to correct mistakes.
    • Field data collectors will follow sampling instructions provided by the study team

  • Close supervision of the work of the data collectors by program and field team.
  • Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

 

Job Requirements:

Education:      

  • Bachelor’s degree in BBA or Computer science.

Experience:

  • 1 year experience as data collector

Skills:

  • Ability to travel to the hard-to-reach areas.
  • Ability to work under pressure and flexibility.
  • Basic English Knowledge and able to read and write
