In 1979 Bangladesh National Woman Lawyers` Association (BNWLA) started its journey with a vision to safeguard the legal, social and economic rights of women and children by establishing the rule of law and upholding the status of women in the society. Due to increasing demand for essential legal aid, BNWLA has undertaken the task of making the judicial system accessible to the vulnerable group. The organization has taken up programs and established a shelter home to combat trafficking and other forms of violence against women and children and to rehabilitate the victims.
