Job Description:
• Safely and efficiently transport passengers, goods, or materials to specified destinations, adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, including checking fluids, tire pressure, and general vehicle cleanliness.
• Plan the most efficient routes to reach destinations on time, considering factors such as traffic conditions, road closures, and weather.
• Provide excellent customer service to passengers or clients, assisting with loading and unloading items, and addressing any concerns or inquiries courteously and professionally.
• Adhere to safety standards and protocols, including wearing seat belts, following speed limits, and ensuring the safety of passengers during transportation.
• Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance activities, as well as any delivery or pickup documentation required for the job.
• Maintain open communication with dispatchers or supervisors to provide updates on delivery schedules, route changes, or any issues encountered during transportation.
• Be prepared to handle emergency situations calmly and responsibly, such as accidents or breakdowns, by following company protocols and ensuring the safety of passengers, and others involved.
• Be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances, such as unexpected delays or last-minute route changes, while still ensuring timely and efficient transportation services.
• Represent the organization professionally at all times, both in appearance and behavior, while interacting with clients, passengers, and other road users.
• Do not drive in over speed.
• Maintain the requisition slip while going out of office campus
• Should not take the vehicle out of office campus without the requisition slip.
• Check the vehicle and all the necessary papers before starting a journey.
Job Requirements:
• Proven working experience as a driver
• Valid professional driver’s license
• Good driving record with no traffic violations
• Driving Skills: A driver should have excellent driving skills, including the ability to operate various types of vehicles safely and efficiently in different road and weather conditions.
• Safety Consciousness: Prioritize safety at all times, including knowledge of traffic laws and regulations, defensive driving techniques, and adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting skills to perform routine checks, identify potential issues, and address minor repairs if needed.
• Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with passengers, clients, dispatchers, and other stakeholders professionally and courteously.
• Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet delivery schedules or pickup deadlines while maintaining safety and efficiency.
• Problem-Solving: Quick-thinking and problem-solving skills to handle unexpected situations, such as traffic delays, road closures, or vehicle breakdowns, while minimizing disruptions to transportation services.
• Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability to work in varying environments and schedules, including long hours, irregular shifts, and occasional overnight stays if required.
