Overview of position
In regions recovering from conflict and fragmentation, media plays a vital role in shaping narratives, promoting dialogue, and restoring trust between communities. In southern Libya, home to a rich tapestry of cultures, tribes, and languages—years of conflict, marginalization, and weakened public institutions have severely impacted both the information ecosystem and community cohesion. The absence of balanced, locally rooted media has contributed to misinformation, polarization, and a widening gap between citizens and institutions.
To address these challenges, Our client in Libya, with generous support fromthe Governments of Denmark, Luxembourg and the Republic of Korea, under the Our client Funding Window for Governance, Peacebuilding, Crisis and Resilience,has launched an initiative to empower local actors through strengthening local peacebuilding and development committees, enabling them to drive peacebuilding dialogue and provide a space for inclusive community engagement. Toachievethis objective, Our client is launching a two-phasedtraining and mentorship program focused on empowering 20 emerging local journalists from Sebha. Thisskill enhancement initiative will equip media practitioners with the tools and ethical foundation to act as agents of peace, inclusion, and resilience. By equipping them with skills such as professional writing skills, mobile journalism techniques, and a solid understanding of ethical standards, the program aims to foster social cohesion and local peacebuilding through fact-based storytelling, conflict-sensitive reporting, and inclusive narratives
Role objectives
Under the supervision and guidance of Oue client the consultant will:
Output 1: Emerging media practitioners in Sebha understand and are able to apply concepts of foundational ethical media coverage, resulting in the production of increased media products adhering to conflict-sensitivity.

Output 2: Emerging media practitioners in Sebha independently produce high-quality media products that address social issues and contribute to local peacebuilding.

This assignment will take place in Libya.If the consultant will be based outside of Sebha, transportation andDSAwill be provided for the in-person trainings anticipated to take place in Sebha.
