Job Summary
Coordinator Health, Safety and Environment, is responsible to supervise, coordinate, evaluates & monitors the implementation of Health, safety & environment policies, procedures & standards as per Etisalat Afghanistan HSE directives in order to deliver a full range of HSE services. Ensures the health & safety of the personnel, visitors & customers. participates in monitoring day-to-day functions, including regular and routine inspection/ incident investigation and management of tasks in respect of Health, Safety & Environment. reviews and monitors work procedures and records with immediate supervisor and follows up on unusual occurrences as required.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Promoting good health, safety, and environmental culture throughout the area of operation.
• Ensure HSE policies, practices and procedures meet their requirements in the areas of responsibility.
• Provide training for staff in relation to Health, Safety & Environment policies, practices, and procedures.
• Propose, implement, and monitor measures necessary to comply with HSE legislations and codes of practice.
• Implement HSE procedures to ensure that contractors, suppliers, consultants, and other visitors to the buildings and facilities comply with relevant legislation, , health, environment, and safety policies.
• Identify, evaluate, and control HSE-related risks of human injuries and others.
• Conducts first-level investigations of worksite accidents, and injuries, prepares reports, and assists with employee medical needs as required.
• Investigate all accidents and near misses, prepare report of findings, including recommendations to prevent recurrence and implement approved course of action.
• Maintaining accident statistics, analyzing trends, proposing, and taking remedial action where necessary.
• Help in revision of the health, safety, and environmental policy statements and procedures on a timely basis.
• Consulting with line supervisors to give appropriate advice on formulating best practices, policies, and procedures.
• Provide guidance and assistance to workers and employees on HSE-related matters.
• Managing the storage of hazardous materials, use, transportation, and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Ensuring at minimum, legal compliance and reducing risk of non-compliance to environmental issues.
• Introduction of new ways of generating green and sustainable energy sources to reduce carbon emissions.
• Managing and controlling the facilities’ recycling and waste management procedures.
• Actively imparting as a catalyst for activity and commitment to reducing the organization’s impact on the environment, and promoting environmental best practices in energy use, waste reduction, and sustainable development.
• Reporting & record keeping of HSE operations.
Job Requirements
· Proven 2 years of experience as HSE, Safety Coordinator, or relevant field.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
· BSc in HSE management or a relevant field is preferred.
· Valid qualification in occupational health, safety & environment
