Purpose

Logistician 1 provides technical and operational support in the areas of purchasing, warehousing, stock management, import-export activities and statistics, in accordance with the ICRC’s logistics standards and local legislation.

Main Responsibilities:

• Supply-chain management and planning (manages and follows up on requests, provides customer desk service, and carries out related reporting).
• Participation in purchase planning (purchase orders, request orders, supplier files, etc.).
• Implementation and follow-up for financial and administrative procedures.
• Support fleet management, transport, and distribution activities.
• Supports the Air operations in coordination with the Logistic site manager.
• Import-export activities where necessary and the supply pipeline with the sub-delegation, delegation.
• Trains ICRC staff in logistics procedures
• Warehouse Management:
• Receives and checks incoming goods against the delivery note and reports any issues.
• Ensures that goods are properly stored, picked, packed, and loaded and reports any issues.
• Ensures that all the stored goods are properly labelled (expiry date, batch numbers, l manufactures, etc) and recorded.

• University degree or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years’ professional experience, preferably in commercial or humanitarian logistics.
• Good command (spoken and written) of English and local languages.
• ICRC field experience an asset.
• Computer literacy; good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of enterprise resource planning software is an asset.
• Openness to learning and improving existing procedures based on need.
