WASH Climate action & ESS expert to Sudan
Introduction
The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) recruits committed and skilled experts for our humanitarian, resilience and peace support operations worldwide on a daily basis. We have great experience on working together and strengthening other organisations for example the UN and the EU in crisis, conflicts or other disasters.

MSB is currently looking for one WASH Climate action & ESS expert for a mission to Kassala, Sudan, Durations for the mission is initially 6 months with possibility for extension, with start ASAP.

The need for WASH services is critical in hotspot locations, IDP and transit sites, major towns hosting displaced people, as well as in states affected by cholera and floods. UNICEF’s ability to deliver essential WASH services and coordinate efforts has been stretched due to a shortage of staff and the need for additional technical expertise in complex humanitarian responses. Therefore, support from SBP staff is required to address the immediate gaps in Climate Action (CA) and Environmental and Social Safeguarding (ESS) expertise, which are crucial for the WASH projects in these areas. The current UNICEF country programme includes a fixed-term position that will ensure a successful exit strategy and long-term follow-up beyond the SBP staff’s tenure.
