This internship is an UNPAID and full-time engagement that provides a framework through which students from diverse academic backgrounds gain exposure to the work of the United Nations by way of their service within Secretariat entities. Applicants should have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations with a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter and have the demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs – which includes a willingness to understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views. Education For consideration for the United Nations Secretariat internship program, candidates must either be enrolled in a graduate program (Master’s degree or higher) or be in their final year of a first-level university degree program (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent), preferably in the fields of law, political science, international relations, social sciences, or a related field OR have received a degree from an accredited institution. Experience No working experience requires to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advanced course work, or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship. Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this internship, fluency in English requires, and knowledge of French is an asset. Knowledge of Spanish would be an advantage.Note
