PRAAN is a non-governmental, non-partisan policy research and advocacy organization that was established in 2004 by some innovative and enthusiastic social and human rights activists. The organization has been working to find alternatives for development that will strengthen people`s initiative by promoting participatory governance processes, strengthening civil society groups, and linking research to policy practices, and building community to strengthen resilience among people and systems. PRAAN`s strategically important activities focus on overcoming the structural causes and consequences of poverty and injustice, which in turn contribute to the dignified, sustainable, and equitable improvement of life for the disadvantaged population of Bangladesh through the promotion of resilient livelihoods, agroecology, protecting and promoting rights, democratization, and accountable public services.
