Talk to Loop is looking for a Global Sensitive Feedback Lead.

‍Talk to Loop is a feedback and reporting mechanism driving inclusive community engagement, transparency and accountability for the efficacy of aid provision, disaster management, prevention and early warning, as well as for the safe reporting of SEA, GBV, fraud, corruption, and misconduct, among other things.

Country: Global with support to Somalia, DRC, and others

Location: Remote, work from home in either: the UK, the Netherlands, Europe or Kenya. .

Salary: Approximately 40,000 euros, based on experience.

Job Type: Permanent, full-time, long term

Working Times/Zones: European and East African Time Zone

Travel Required: Up to 3 months per year

Management Responsibilities

Reports to: Global Loop Lead

Direct reports: N/A

Indirect relationships: Sensitive feedback moderators in the relevant countries, including Somalia, Close working relationship with the other Sensitive Feedback Leads, User Experience and Quality Assurance Lead and Digital Product Lead, among others.

Talk to Loop seeks to be one part of a system trying to change that by democratising feedback, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued. Talk to Loop operates across multiple channels, allowing individuals to provide feedback in their preferred language and format. Whether through text messages, voice messages, or social media platforms, we prioritise accessibility and user centred design. Sensitive feedback is handled with the utmost care and confidentiality, with secure referral pathways, managed by technical specialists, ensuring that individuals are protected from retribution or harm.

Role Overview

As the Global Sensitive Feedback Lead at Loop, you will play a crucial role in upholding the safety and well-being of individuals who use our platform. Working within our Survivor-Centred approach, you will establish referral pathways, manage sensitive feedback referred for case management, ensure confidentiality, and provide necessary support and referrals. This role requires a deep understanding of international safeguarding practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders in humanitarian and development settings.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to survivor-centred approaches, adherence to ethical standards, and the ability to navigate complex situations with compassion and professionalism.

Expected Tasks

Sensitive Feedback Management

Support in-country Sensitive Feedback Leads/Moderators to manage sensitive feedback referred by Loop Moderators, including, among others, allegations of fraud, corruption, sexual/gender-based violence, child protection issues, and other misconduct.
Ensure strict adherence to the Loop policies on confidentiality and anonymity of individuals involved, ensuring all team members are adhering to strict protocols to protect survivors’ identity and safety.
Follow up on the processing of each case, tracking key milestones through Loop’s Case Management tool.
Work closely with Loop Country Sensitive Leads/Moderators to manage referrals of cases to relevant assistance providers and organisations for allegations, ensuring appropriate follow-up and support.
Collaborate with international and national actors to advocate for improved outcomes for survivors, integrating with existing systems and structures as needed. This includes managing data safely to advocate for risk management, improved accountability and skills in response to learning from the sensitive reports coming into Loop.

Training and Capacity Building

Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff members (and others where relevant) on safeguarding practices, gender-based violence (GBV), Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), and other related topics.
Ensure that all team members have a comprehensive understanding of best practices, protocols, and reporting mechanisms to handle sensitive feedback effectively and ethically.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external partners, and subject matter experts to tailor training materials to different organisation’s specific context, skills and needs.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives, providing ongoing support and guidance to staff members as needed to enhance their competence and confidence in handling sensitive issues and implementing effective presentations and training.

Compliance and Regulations

Demonstrate deep knowledge of international safeguarding practices, GDPR regulations, and other relevant data protection and confidentiality requirements.
Ensure compliance with Loop’s policies and procedures related to sensitive feedback management and case handling.
Advise the communications and fundraising teams, among others, on how to appropriately and safely represent the sensitive learning and information received to increase impact and meet the highest standards of protection.

Necessary Skills and Experience

Evidence of in-depth knowledge of international Safeguarding practices equivalent to a degree level in an international development-related discipline.
at least 5 years of field experience in two or more humanitarian or development settings, with a strong understanding of international development and humanitarian architecture.
Familiarity with data protection, confidentiality, and EU GDPR regulations.
Technical expertise in at least two of the following areas: Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP), Protection, Human rights, Child Protection, Gender-based violence/Victim assistance, staff misconduct and workplace investigations
Proficient and written and spoken English and French. Other languages such as Spanish, Arabic, Swahili etc will be beneficial.
