Job Description:

The Role:

Under the overall supervision and guidance of the head of School Feeding, the Programme Associate (School feeding) will be responsible for the following duties related to WFP nutrition programmes and initiatives.

Key Accountabilities:

•    Compile, review, and produce reports and datasheets weekly and monthly capturing the activities of the immunization, health, and nutrition education program within School Feeding.  Monitor progress of project implementation and track budget consumption and compliance with donor requirements.
•    Provide support to Jalalabad Area Office remotely and on site on the implementation of all its School Feeding activities, assisting the School Feeding Program Assistant of Jalalabad Area Office directly in any task required for the success of the School Feeding Programme.
•    Lead in the coordination of deworming and capacity building partnerships, providing ongoing support to the Cooperating partner, participating in project activities, ensuring administrative processes are conducted on time, leading in monitoring and evaluation of project progress, and reporting.
•    Conduct field visits for quality control as required.
•    Support the Country Office team in all tasks related to the School Feeding program, particularly analysis of monitoring data, conducting field visits, monitoring the implementation of new pilots, communication with area offices, issue tracking, pipeline tracking and administrative duties to ensure timely execution of programs.

Job Requirements:

Education: Completion of secondary school. First university degree or an advanced university degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Communication for development, Anthropology, Social Sciences, Psychology would be an added advantage.

Experience: At least 6 years of experience in implementing education and Social Behaviour Change Communication ​(SBCC) related support activities in direct collaboration with government counterparts, exposure with cash-based transfer programmes.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and local languages (Pashto/Dari)

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and facilitation skills. Strong analytical and report writing skills.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, develop, plan, and manage programmes, leadership and teamwork abilities, good analytical, negotiation communication and advocacy skills.
  • Good computer knowledge and skills.
  • Previous work experience with INGOs, UN Organization and/or government is desirable.
  • Experience in coordination and facilitation of meetings with UN and government counterparts.
