The United Nations Regional Service Centre in Entebbe (RSCE) is a shared service center that provides administrative and support services to UN peacekeeping missions and other UN entities in the East and Horn of Africa region. The center is located in Entebbe, Uganda, and was established in 2010.
The RSCE offers a range of services to UN entities, including:
- Human resources management, including recruitment, staffing, and personnel administration
- Procurement and supply chain management, including the procurement of goods and services, inventory management, and logistics support
- Financial management and accounting, including budget preparation and management, financial reporting, and treasury services
- Information and communication technology (ICT) services, including network and infrastructure support, software and application development, and helpdesk services
- General administrative and logistical support, including facilities management, travel and transportation, and conference services.
The RSCE operates on a cost-recovery basis, charging UN entities for the services they receive based on the actual costs incurred. The centre also places a strong emphasis on sustainability, with a focus on reducing its environmental footprint and promoting responsible business practices.
