The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is a UN office that was established in 1997 to address the issues of illicit trafficking in and abuse of drugs, crime prevention and criminal justice, international terrorism, and political corruption. Its mission is to contribute to global peace and security, human rights, and development by making the world safer from drugs, crime, corruption, and terrorism. UNODC has its headquarters in ViennaAustria, with 115 field offices and two liaison offices in Brussels and New York City. It employs around 3,400 people worldwide and has a biannual budget of around $700 million. UNODC works to enhance international cooperation and global partnership in all its mandate areas.
