About War Child:
Through its Justice, Education, Health, and Livelihood (Opportunity) program, War Child’s flagship Afghanistan initiative promotes social impact in the lives of women, children, and their families who are at risk. The program also addresses gender and child safety throughout its whole. With recently obtained long-term financing for initiatives in eight provinces—Kabul, Nangarhar, Balkh, Samangan, and Sar-e-Pul Provinces—the nation program is seeing an exciting growth.
Overview of the Job:
The English Language Trainer will instruct adolescents and youths in MYC in the English language, including basic grammar, basic conversation, and basic writing skills, while working under the direction of the MYC Coordinator and in coordination with the Life Skills Trainer and other MYC staff members.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Curriculum Development
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English language lessons tailored to the needs of diverse learners, including youth with varied language proficiency levels.
- Develop and implement an age-appropriate and culturally sensitive English curriculum aligned with program goals.
- Incorporate modern teaching methods, including the use of multimedia tools and digital platforms, to enhance language learning.
- Classroom Management
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and fosters mutual respect.
- Facilitate language training sessions to improve participants’ communication, reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
- Mentor and support youth in developing practical language skills for education, employment, and social engagement.
- Assess and monitor students’ progress, providing regular feedback and additional support where needed.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor, aligned with the project’s scope and objectives.

- Maintain accurate records of attendance, lesson plans, and assessments.
- Prepare and submit progress reports on participants’ achievements and challenges to the center management.

- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in relevant disciplines (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, English Literature)
- Additional qualification or certification in Diploma in English Language
- In-depth understanding of diverse English Language programs
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience in computer and as well as English Language program
- Capacity to work with young people from diverse cultural background.
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
Skills and Abilities:
- Good Communication and interpersonal skills including reporting writing
- Excellent presentation skills
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meeting of deadlines
