Job Description:

Job Summary

      • Graduate from recognized institute (Public health, Nursing, midwifery).
      • At least 2 years’ experience in the field of health and nutrition promotion.
      • Having experiences in the field of health and nutrition at community level and health centers .
      • Experience in behavioral change promotion is preferred.
      • Experience in health care service delivery
      • Excellent communication with communities
      • Good training & demonstration skills
      • Having a high flexibility level
      • Good planning, organizing and reporting kills.
      • Ability to manage working environment according to local culture
      • Fluent in local languages (Dari & Pashto), Knowledge of English language is a plus.
      • Knowledge of intervention area is a plus
      • Develops and promotes effective collaboration within and across units to achieve shared goals and optimize results
        • To promote communities in health awareness and community engagement.
        • To mobilize communities in participation to community dialogues and health promotion.
        • To empower women in the communities to engage and participate in community health promotion process
        • To assist the project team at CHC/BHC in overall project implementation and management

        Duties & Responsibilities

        Objective 1: Implementation community-based health and protection promotion

        • Establish community –based health and nutrition promotion committees (male & female) in the catchment areas.
        • Conduct project orientation and mobilization sessions with local community elders/men and women in the communities and catchment areas as well as at the center.
        • Plan, organize and realize daily and monthly orientation sessions, according to the methodology defined, regarding health/relevant messaged to the health and protection.
        • Organize regular community sensitization sessions for beneficiaries.
        • Record the necessary information in the relevant reporting tools.

        Objective2: Performing health and nutrition education and awareness sessions:

        • Prepared all the material for the health and promotion education sessions
        • Conduct regular health/ nutrition and community health education sessions to all clients.
        • Promote behavior changes of clients on health/nutrition and MHPSS catchment areas.
        • Distribute program relevant items/inputs to BNFs in the centers and catchment areas.
        • Record all information in the designed/validated reporting tools.

        Objective 3: Represent the organization and project at community level and at the center

        • Present the professional image of the organization related program to relevant communities.
        • Respect for the principals and values of the organization in the framework of the partnership.
        • Develop contacts and explain to stakeholders and populations the activities and the objectives of the programs.
        • Represent the organization with the beneficiaries with the agreement of the health supervisor.
        • Inform local authorities about all aspects of the programs
        • Involve and inform the communities in the implementation of the program
        • Conduct the community dialogues and meetings with communities on the health promotionContinuously seeks to learn, share knowledge and innovateOnly short-listed candidates will be invited for written tests and interviews upon project approve.To support the project in implementation of health care services to community at CHC and BHC level.

        Objective 4: Perform and execute the planned activities of community health promotion.

        • Perform screening, plans, implementation and monitoring of promotion outputs at community level.
        • To facilitate engagement of the community people with the health centers at the field
        • Identify health awareness training needs among community health workers and develop training programs.
        • Facilitate the health care services of the health centers to the beneficiaries
        • Assist the health center team in all the clinical activities and wards
        • Facilitate the first aid trainings and kit distributions
        • Collect all the reports of CHWs and monitor health posts
        • Assessing and Contributing to properly forge the medical expectations of the target population, in a way of positively affecting their Health seeking behavior
        • Facilitate the referral pathway of the referred clients to other centers
        • Regular Visit of communities that are under his/her responsibility
        • Keep record of all screened BNFs in the relevant reporting tools.
