Responsibilities & Context

To facilitate and implement the Gaibandha Re-Greening Project interventions of the Area Development Project along with local government and WVB Livelihood Technical Program and to assist in fulfillment of project goals with high level of stakeholder participation and community ownership. The purpose of the position is to implement Re-greening project effectively and efficiently at the community-level to restoring biodiversity, increasing productivity and strengthening resilience through the widespread adoption of agroforestry, climate smart agriculture, nature-based solutions and sustainable land management practices—which can deliver food, shelter, goods, better climate and other livelihood benefits. The project officer is also responsible for mobilizing communities and key local partners around to ensure each target\ted 20 villages have a unique visibility plan with full concept of climate change and environment after project period. Each PO is responsible for implementing project activities in timely fashion in a defined selected target area with identified target communities which results in mitigation of impact of climate change on children, women those are disproportionately affected during natural calamities.

This position will serve as the primary bridging link between World Vision (including technical specialists and sponsorship staff) and communities, line departments of the Government of the Bangladesh and local partners. The PO will mobilize community engagement, identify local partners, assess and build their capacity, and empower them to work together to plan and implement shared project activities with an effort to  protection and conservation the environment for  strengthening community resilience and improving food security and child wellbeing especially the most vulnerable. This position is responsible for local level advocacy through coordination with key stakeholders. To change the languages of staffs and communities, PO will build capacity to them on various technical issues under climate change and environment.

The PO will work with the AP Team to established appropriate networking and advocacy for effective collaborative efforts for program sustainability while ensuring community participation.
