MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate focused parents and caregiver sessions based on IRC’s Parenting skills training curriculum to promote the well-being of children and adolescents through improving parents’ stress management skills, positive parenting practices, and strategies for supporting children and adolescents with psychosocial needs.
Establish and train community-based groups and committees and support them to conduct outreach activities related to parents and caregivers’ wellbeing, safety planning, and deliver key messages on child protection.
Involve and follow-up community committee members in organizing and conducting awareness sessions on CP and protection related issues in collaboration with CP officer.
Identify children at risk of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and violence during regular field visits in the community and refer to child protection case workers for further assistance.
Contribute to the delivery of awareness creation of child protection concerns and issues such as early marriage, maltreatment, abuse, and exploitation, and enhancing the protection of boys, girls and women in the community.
Provide information to parents, caregivers, and children on available humanitarian services and create a link between them and service providers present in the area as per service maps.
Work closely with partners to ensure that boys and girls benefiting from the Baity Center services are not exposed to any form of harm during the activity implementation.
Participate in conducting surveys, needs assessments, safety audits, and service mapping exercises.
Support in collecting data on relevant activities and draft reports in consultation with the supervisor and MEAL team.
Participate in activity planning meetings and share activity reports with the supervisor on a weekly basis or as may be required.
Support the logistical arrangements of the relevant activities at the Baity Center and in the community.
Contribute to the procurement of materials used for the implementation of relevant activities.
Perform any other duties as may be guided by the supervisor.

Position Reports to: Child Protection Officer
Staff management: The CP Facilitator will manage community outreach volunteers (COVs).
Working Environment: This position will be based in the Baity Center with frequent travel to other project locations.
Qualifications
Job Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field – education, social sciences, public health, etc.
At least 2 years of experience implementing child protection activities and working with vulnerable groups in emergency/conflict or post-conflict settings.
Experience in participatory approaches and child participation methodologies
Familiarity with child protection programming including psychosocial support, access to education and health, community-based child protection as well as other various protection measures to ensure children’s safety.
Proven experience in delivering training to children and adults.
Good understanding of the local context and cross-cultural sensitive issues
Good communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic languages.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and power point.
Experience in regular report writing.
Ability to take initiative and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
Demonstrated high level of flexibility, responsiveness, and reliability.
Ability to work under pressure and strong time management skills to meet both short-term and long-term objectives.
