Functional Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Senior Project Manager, the Deputy Project Manager will perform the following functions:
- Project implementation
- Financial and procurement management
- Project monitoring and reporting
- Coordination, liaison and management of interested parties
- Knowledge management and innovation
- Team coordination
1. Project implementation
- Preparation and maintenance of project files, including internal and external project reports.
- Manage information flows and oversee change controls, risk registers and request management by establishing document control procedures.
2.Financial and procurement management
- Monitor the project budget and financial expenses and all administrative procedures in line with the work plan.
- Support the Project Manager by monitoring budgets, cash flow and reporting on spending obligations to ensure compliance with product delivery or project commitments.
3. Project monitoring and reporting
- Comply with all organizational policy and specifically with the PMM (Project Management Manual)
- Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of project reports and documents.
4. Coordination, liaison and management of interested parties
- Support the coordination and management of internal and external communications (with the associate, other interested parties).
- Participate in meetings with the partner, other project stakeholders, UN agencies, NGOs and other interested parties, as necessary.
5. Knowledge management and innovation
- Support the compilation of lessons learned according to the defined report format.
- Ensure that local capacities are created at all levels and opportunities to support the project.
6. Team coordination
- Establish strong working relationships with the teams that support the project.
- Coordinate with relevant teams internally to ensure that various project components are delivered in a timely manner.

Education/Experience/Language requirements
Education:
- Master’s degree is required, preferably in Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, or related careers.
- The master’s degree requirement may be offset by a first-level university degree (equivalent to a bachelor’s degree) and 4 years of relevant experience.
- It is a desirable requirement that you have PRINCE2® Certification as a Foundation or Practitioner.
Work experience:
- A minimum of 2 years (or more depending on academic qualifications) of relevant and progressive professional experience, specifically in the field of project management and operations management with emphasis on monitoring, reporting, development and coordination.
- Experience in managing and supervising multidisciplinary teams is required.
- Experience in infrastructure projects is desirable.
- Experience working with local public sector counterparts (e.g. Governments, Ministries, national public entities, etc.) is desirable.
- Experience and knowledge of United Nations rules, administrative regulations and procedures in procurement, finance, human resources management is desirable.
Languages:
- Knowledge of the English language at an intermediate level is required.
- Fluency in the Spanish language is required.
