RESPONSIBILITIES
What you will do
- Ensure compliance with NRC policies, guidelines and standards.
- Ensure compliance with protection strategy, tools, handbooks, guidelines and standards
- Protection-specific technical responsibility for implementation of technical activities of protection project(s)
- Protection technical responsibility for tracking of financial expenditures for technical activities of protection project(s)
- Protection technical responsibility for the quality control and monitoring of project activities
- Protection technical responsibility for project documentation of technical activities of Protection project(s)
- Provide specific technical analysis and feedback to NRC representatives in coordination forums.
- Assess, promote, and document ideas for technical improvement and further program development options
- Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist
- Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy.
Specifically, you will;
- Provide technical supervision and capacity building to project staff.
- In coordination with the Protection Manager, develop, update, and monitor the weekly, monthly/quarterly work plan and flag any challenges/constraints to the Protection Manager.
- Submit weekly and monthly reports to Protection Manager/ Area Manager.
- Support the Protection Manager in providing constructive feedback to the team on their reports to ensure their development and quality reporting through one-to-one sessions and/or team meetings.
- Support the Protection Manager in providing technical supervision on case management and lead case conferences as appropriate.
- Accurately ensure & and update the Protection database continuously (at least monthly) for online database and filling forms in addition to ensuring adherence to data protection protocols.
- Collaborate with NRC Core Competencies, ICLA, M&E, and CCR to ensure quality and context-appropriate inputs and work closely with Support and Logistics Units, as necessary and required by the line manager.
- Liaise and engage with relevant external stakeholders and Local authorities.
- In coordination with the PM, advocate with community stakeholders and authorities to achieve individual Program Participants’ goals set in the case plan.
- Accompany project participants to various offices when required based on risk assessments.
- Ensure up-to-date information on available services and procedures for project participants to access services.
- Use initiative in day-to-day problem-solving in line with agreed procedures, priorities, and standards, and promote and share ideas for technical improvement.
- Ensure dissemination of clear and reliable information sessions on service provision and other pre-selected key topics.
- Support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools and report on issues in the implementation of the program.
- Undertake any other reasonable task assigned by the protection manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
Professional competencies
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in the Protection Program, and Minimum 1-year experience in a supervision position.
- Technical experience working in case management, PSS, and relevant protection work.
- ExperienceWorking in implementing protection/humanitarian recovery activities in Ninawa areas affected by displacement, specifically Mosul.
- Experience in coordinating and supervising project implementation within an international or local organization in a humanitarian context.
- knowledge and understanding of international standards, and protection fundamental concepts and guiding principles.
- Good Ability to analyze and integrate information from a wide range of sources (Data-base, reports).
- Good Knowledge of IT tools (MS Office package, internet, e-mail, etc.).
- Fluency in Arabic, both written and verbal
