Task description
Under the supervision of Digital Communication Officer, the UNV Communication Associate (social media) will:
• Create a social media posting planner to be shared on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Assist in developing social media packages and scheduling/publishing them across all UNICEF social media channels.
• Archive social media calendars and social media assets.
• Support the digital communication officer in coordinating and producing engaging social media content through coordination with and programme focal points, graphic designers and other relevant suppliers.
• Support in the production of digital materials for the digital platforms to ensure brand visibility and consistency.
• Produce creative briefs, explore different innovative tools for content creation, and regularly update the team on new trends and potentials to strengthen UNICEF digital media existence.
• Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on the social media key performance indicators and sentiment analysis
• Support with providing enough and diverse content to meet the requirements of the social media and website calendars in collaboration with the social media team.
• Organize and conduct field visits for content collection and live coverage
• Assist in developing text content (Captions) for posts in English and Arabic.
• Coordinate with content implementers (designers, videos editors, photographers…etc.) for quality, timely delivery and alignment with UNICEF digital guidelines.
• Clear content with the Digital Communication Officer, and programme sections as needed.
• Support with providing inputs to programme sections for communication-related content to enhance creativity and amplify impact.
• Monitor partners, other UN platforms and relevant accounts for articles, stories, resources, and relevant sharable content.
• Assist with logistics and coordination of social media activities and live coverage of events.
• Assist in mapping/identifying major and relevant digital social media outlets, and compiling names of potential/key influencers to support in further promoting UNICEF communication and advocacy campaigns and activities.
• Support in community management and digital advertising upon need.
• Assist in responding to comments and messages received across all social media platforms
• Assist in creating TOR, conducting desk reviews and performing any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Candidate must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment.
Requirements
Required experience
3 years of experience in Communication, Communication Arts, Marketing, Advertising, Audio visual, Journalism, Mass Media or any area related.
• At least 3 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in communication, advertising, content production, marketing. or other relevant programmes; experience with event management is an asset, as is experience working in the UN or other international development organization.
• understanding and experience in content production, video editing, social media assets
• Excellent oral and written skills; proofreading, excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills.
• Knowledge in graphic design tools Adobe Creative suite; Knowledge in graphic design tools Adobe Creative suite; video editing tools and applications, analytic tools is required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development.
• Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel.
• Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment.
• Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines.
• Sound security awareness.
• Have affinity with or interest in human rights advocacy, volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.
