Functional Responsibilities
As part of its activities in Brazil, UNOPS periodically brings together working teams to support partners in the design and implementation of a diverse and challenging portfolio of projects.
The main activities planned for the Project Management Support Analyst – (Responsible for the Project Construction Area), included in the preparation, planning, execution and closure activities, are:
- Identification of own resources necessary to carry out projects, allocation and coordination of these resources.
- Quality control of products developed by the responsible team.
- Technical review of the projects to be implemented, in order to guarantee the consistency and completeness of each presentation, as well as identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in the design, with an emphasis on aspects related to sustainability and based on the UNOPS Minimum Quality Standards.
- Coordination and technical validation of the work of the Construction Team tasked by UNOPS for the project, in particular when UNOPS is asked to formulate or reformulate construction projects to adapt them to the required standards.
- Participation and coordination of field visits, being mainly responsible for the diagnoses to be carried out and for compiling all data received.
- Main responsible for including technical aspects in the agreements that UNOPS signs with other actors (Social Organizations, private companies) for the execution of works and for the formulation of associated plans.
- Technical management of the work of construction inspectors during the construction execution phase.
- Technical support to construction inspectors for: a) the signing of the Construction Certificates, b) the issuance of the Provisional Acceptance, c) the verification, during the guarantee period, of the correction by Social Organizations of the works corresponding to the material damage caused to the house due to defects or failures and d) the issuance of Final Acceptance of the Works.
- Active participation in project meetings (monitoring, informative).
- Technical support to the Project Manager to consolidate reports on the works carried out and compile all documentation of the works (Books, Certificates, Payments, Proof of materials acquired by the Social Organization, Photographs, Reports).
- Coordination with the social team to guarantee joint actions with the same technical base.
- Coordination with administration and finance teams to ensure that information required by areas is provided in a timely manner.
- Responsible for consolidating technical information into database systems.
- Definition of formats and content for the appropriate collection of information and preparation of technical reports and briefings.
- Review of reports prepared by the team responsible for ensuring the homogeneity of your messages.
- Active participation in internal coordination meetings and missions and trips established by UNOPS to better perform the assigned functions.
- Fulfillment of other duties and activities in your area of expertise, as requested by the Project Manager.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards established by the Project Manager.
- Manage the sending of documentation to UNOPS teams of consultants, approvers and auditors.

- Compliance with other functions and activities in their discipline of specialization that are required by the Project Manager.
- Ensuring compliance with quality standards established by the Project Manager.
- Management of documentation presentations to UNOPS teams of advisors, approvers and auditors
Education/Experience/Language requirements
- Higher university degree in the technical sector, preferably in Engineering and/or Architecture
- Master’s degree or postgraduate degree in relevant areas is desirable and considered an additional degree.
Work experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in technical management, development or supervision of infrastructure projects.
- Experience in supervising work teams is required (minimum of 1 year).
- Experience in managing contracts with project and/or infrastructure contractors is required.
- Experience in executing national projects with international organizations is desirable.
- Experience in multidisciplinary teams is desirable.
- Experience in economic development projects desirable.
- Experience in integrating gender into projects is desirable.
- Experience in designing, managing, implementing or monitoring programs and projects aimed at vulnerable populations is desirable.
Languages:
- Portuguese: Native language
- Intermediate working level knowledge of English and/or Spanish is required
