Mission and objectives
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is a member agency of the United Nations system that works in more than 198 countries and territories around the world with the objective of ensuring the fulfillment of the rights of all children. and adolescents, especially focusing our efforts on reaching the most vulnerable and excluded around the world. UNICEF is guided by the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and strives to ensure that these rights become enduring ethical principles and international standards of conduct towards children and adolescents. UNICEF has been in Bolivia since 1950 with the objective of ensuring compliance with the rights of children and adolescents, promoting their development, ensuring their protection and their participation in society. These same purposes extend to women and indigenous peoples.
Context
The United Nations Complementarity Framework for Living Well 2023-2027 reflects the strategic programming of the United Nations System in Bolivia (SNU) to work together with the Plurinational State of Bolivia. In this framework, UNICEF Bolivia developed the Country Program document 2023 – 2027, from which the Resource Mobilization Strategy emerges, where there are different sources of fundraising: private sector (individual and corporate donors), public donors and Committees. UNICEF Nations. For this reason, it is necessary to hire the services of a person who leads the communication and marketing strategy of the resource mobilization area focused on different donors.
Task description
Within the framework of delegated authority and under the supervision of the Fundraising Officer or his designated representative, in coordination with the Communication Specialist for approval of materials bearing UNICEF branding, the UN Volunteer will carry out the following tasks : 1. Contribute to the development of communication strategies, with a solid fundraising approach that improves individual, corporate, public donor and National Committee donation strategies by: – Collaborating in the creation of communication campaigns for various donor channels (Face to Face, Telemarketing, Digital, DRTV, among others), focusing on loyalty and retention. – Contribute to the development of creative and innovative content (scripts, key messages, social media packages, emails, etc.) for campaigns across different channels. – Validate content needs in collaboration with the alliances and programs area. – Actively participate in communications meetings, editorial boards and events to obtain relevant information on program initiatives. – Contribute to the preparation of the area’s emergency plan. 2.Develop content and material for different donors: – Create information materials, brochures and other resources to strengthen the recruitment, retention and commitment of individual donors, companies and other key donors. – Coordinate the generation of content for retention strategies based on the needs of individual and corporate donation channels. – Prepare support materials for fundraising, including information on UNICEF actions, handling objections and campaign presentations. – Provide technical support in the production of annual reports, magazines, newsletters and other ad-hoc materials. – Collaborate in monitoring the relevance and impact of the area’s communication materials. 3.Support in the generation of content for the digital acquisition area by: – Contributing to the creation of specific content and materials to improve the performance of the Digital Acquisition channel, proposing innovations and evaluating results. – Support in the analysis of the area’s requirements to propose strategies and solutions that facilitate digital plans and results. – Assist in the presentation of performance reports and ad-hoc reports to evaluate the impact of digital activities. – Explain technical information clearly. 4.Develop audiovisual material and relationship with suppliers: – Coordinate the conceptualization, production and approval of graphic and audiovisual communication campaigns and products. – Assist in the coordination of work with suppliers such as agencies, video producers and editors to meet the requirements of the area and internal clients. – Validate that the materials and content are in line with what was agreed. – Collaborate in the search for agencies and suppliers for the production of quality materials at reasonable costs. – Support in the validation of the annual plan and calendar of special events. – Periodically explore new ideas and potential partners, especially at fundraising events. 5.Lead the development of the annual UNICEF Telethon: – Lead the creative, conceptual development and graphic lines of each edition of the UNICEF Bolivia Telethon. – Coordinate with the associated television channel the various stages of the Telethon (before, during and post), as well as the implementation of the strategy. – Direct the development and implementation of the list during the Telethon. – Coordinate the entire process related to guest artists, both national and international. Any other activity that is required or assigned by the supervisor. In addition to the above, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate into the UNV mandate within the framework of their assignment and promote voluntary action through integration into communities in the development of their work. As such, UN Volunteers should dedicate part of their work time to one of the following recommended activities: – Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteering by reading relevant UNV and external publications, as well as play an active role in UNV activities (for example, events commemorating International Volunteer Day); – Know and develop traditional and/or local forms of volunteering in the host country; – Provide annual and post-assignment self-assessment reports on UNV actions, results and opportunities; – Contribute articles/reviews of your experiences in the field and send them to headquarters for inclusion in the website, publications, pamphlets/newsletters, press releases, etc. of UNV; – Assist with the Mentoring Program for new UN Youth Volunteers; – Promote or advise local groups in the use of the UNV Online Volunteering service or promote the use of the service to relevant local individuals and organizations when technically possible. – Direct the development and implementation of the list during the Telethon. – Coordinate the entire process related to guest artists, both national and international.
