Duties and responsibilities
The General Expert will be responsible for critical leadership in organizing the G20 meetings to ensure that all actions are carried out efficiently and smoothly, as well as supporting the implementation of the Project in its entirety, as well as coordinating the entire team and contributing to strengthening established partnerships. The General Specialist will also work in close coordination with the MRE and UNDP team. To achieve the objectives, the following indicative activities are planned, among others.
o Develop a comprehensive strategic plan for all logistics operations related to the G20 meetings, establishing objectives, targets and performance indicators, and oversee and coordinate the various teams involved in logistics, such as transportation, accommodation, security, food, infrastructure, communication and ceremonial, to ensure that they are aligned with the objectives of the event.
o Manage the budget allocated to Logistics Coordination actions, allocating resources effectively and supervising supplier hiring processes and contract negotiations, when and if necessary.
o Coordinate the preparation of meeting locations, ensuring that they are equipped with appropriate technology and facilities and comply with safety and accessibility standards.
o Coordinate transportation logistics, including cars, buses, helicopters and other means of transportation to ensure the safe and punctual arrival of participants, along with coordination of hotel and food suppliers, including room reservations, check-in/check-in out and catering services.
o Coordinate communication actions related to the results of the meetings, together with the MRE and the UNDP.
o Coordinate with the ceremonial team and with the MRE and UNDP that all rules of protocol and etiquette are met in accordance with international and G20 standards.
o Consider sustainability practices, as far as possible, and be prepared for emergency situations or crises, developing contingency and crisis response plans. Provide regular reports on action progress and assess team performance, identifying areas for improvement and lessons learned for future G20 meetings.
Institutional Arrangement
The General Specialist will be part of the team of the aforementioned Logistics Coordination Center allocated to the MRE and will be subject to the direct supervision of the MRE and the coordination of the UNDP project. This is a position financed by project(s), with an initial duration of one year, with the possibility of renewal during the validity of the initiatives.

Required skills and experience
Minimum education requirements:
• Advanced university degree (Master’s degree) in Business Administration, International Relations, Economics or related field is required; or
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Economics or related field in combination with 2 additional years of experience will be given
due consideration in lieu of a master’s degree.
Minimum years of relevant professional experience:
• Minimum of 5 years (for Master’s degree) or 7 years (for Bachelor’s degree) of experience in the event management area.
Required skills:
• Experience working with national and international public sector partners.
Desired skills, in addition to the skills covered in the Skills section:
• Experience in developing strategic plans for logistics operations, such as transportation, accommodation, security, food, infrastructure, communication and ceremonies;
• Experience in managing financial resources;
• Experience in coordinating large events (over 500 participants;
• Experience in coordinating events with international impact
Required languages:
• Fluency in Portuguese and English is necessary.
