Mission and objectives
The Resident Coordinator is the leader of the United Nations Country Team (UNCT). Its role is to coordinate the work of the various United Nations agencies, funds and programs in Tunisia in order to improve the coherence and effectiveness of their action in the service of the country’s development. It ensures that United Nations support is aligned with national development priorities and demand for capacity building, in accordance with international treaties and the Sustainable Development Goals. The Office of the Resident Coordinator is the main structure supporting the activities of the Resident Coordinator and the country team. The United Nations Information Center in Tunis (UNIC) is attached to the Office of the Resident Coordinator and is part of a network of Information Centers and Services providing liaison between Headquarters in New York and 68 different cities of States Members of the UN, whose Centers sometimes cover entire regions. The UNIC is the voice of the Organization and is a very important means of raising awareness among local populations about issues of global concern.

Context
Prevention is at the heart of the United Nations strategy to combat sexual exploitation and abuse. Actions must be taken in a preventive and comprehensive manner across the UN system as well as in partnership with Member States. The fundamental elements of this approach are personnel selection and training, public awareness and risk assessment.

Task description
We are looking for online volunteers who, under the direction of UNIC Tunisia, support us in producing graphic designs. The volunteer will be tasked with creating a graphic design for posters that will be used for an internal awareness campaign against sexual harassment and abuse at the United Nations. The shortlisted volunteers will be contacted by email to make a poster proposal, according to a text which will be provided by us by email. The proposal submission period will run from January 5 to 11. The selected design will be used for the 6 remaining posters and the work will be distributed between 3 volunteers (each will create 2 posters) within one week, from January 12 to 18. Summary of the timeline: – from January 5 to 11: submission of a graphic proposal and identification of the chosen design – January 12 to 18: variation of the posters. Successful candidates will receive a certificate from the United Nations Information Center in Tunisia.

Requirements
Required experience
Candidates should have professional experience in graphic design with previous experience in designing document layouts, and must have in-depth knowledge of graphic design applications, as well as good verbal and written communication skills.
A degree in graphic design or related field is considered an asset.

French, Level: Fair, Desirable
