Main responsibilities:
Implementation of prevention and response activities
- Ensure the quality of case management services;
- Strengthen the capacities, knowledge and skills of social workers on a regular basis;
- Conduct supervision sessions (individual and collective) on a weekly basis with social workers;
- Check the quality of files at least every two weeks;
- Support social workers in case management;
- Ensure coordination between partner focal points for holistic management of GBV cases;
- Organize case management meetings once a month or urgently;
- Follow and enforce the GBV Information Sharing Protocol;
- Supervise the implementation of community mobilization activities aimed at preventing violence against women and girls using different approaches (DG, EMAP, community awareness raising, recreational activities);
- Regularly monitor facilitators in the field;
- Supervise the implementation of EA$E methodology activities;
- Coordinate the preparation and organization of event days such as International Women’s Day and the 16 days of activism against violence against women campaign;
- Strengthen the capacities of team members on the different community mobilization modules used (EMAP, EA$E);
- Organize and facilitate focus groups;
- Case management by telephone and in person;
- Capacity building and training of social workers.
Project monitoring and reporting
- Prepare a plan of activities on a monthly and weekly basis;
- Provide necessary elements for monthly and annual reports;
- Proceed regularly and systematically to collect data and monitor cases using the procedures and monitoring, analysis and evaluation tools produced by the project, in collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation assistant;
- Produce accurate and timely activity reports with analysis;
- Prepare expenditure and purchasing planning for the site to which assigned.
Communication et collaboration
- Maintain good relations with all stakeholders in the camps to encourage better communication and coordination;
- Collaborate with others on the intervention component.
Team management
- Participate in staff recruitment and performance evaluation;
- Strengthen the capacity of assistants by providing ongoing coaching and training, with the support of the Senior Officer and the PAF Manager;
- Encourage a good working climate and good relationships with team members.
Other Responsibilities
- Represent the IRC in a professional manner to local authorities, members of the communities concerned and to all other organizations;
- Strictly respect the safety instructions in force;
- Respect the IRC ethics policy;
- All other tasks upon request of the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Hold an academic degree in Social Sciences, economics, community development or equivalent professional training in the same field;
- Experience of at least 3 years in the field of gender-based violence and/or social work;
- Experience working in a restrictive environment and flexibility to work in a refugee environment;
- A good sense of organization and time management;
- A good understanding of the gender issue;
- Good understanding of confidentiality issues in the collection and sharing of GBV data;
- Organization and communication skills;
- Mastery of computer tools especially MS Word and Excel and Power Point;
- Demonstrate tact and a keen sense of discretion;
- Perfect command of French and Kirundi;
- Good command of Swahili;
- Strictly adhere to the IRC child and adult safeguarding policy and all other policies, in particular those relating to security and fraud prevention;
- Commit to respecting and implementing IRC’s Safeguarding policies.
