OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST
The UNESCO Office in Mexico, at the request of the Secretariat of Education of Guanajuato (SEG), will provide technical assistance to this agency to design and support the implementation of the “Educational Innovation Laboratory for the Development of Public Policies.” Through this mechanism, it seeks to strengthen the actions established by the Social Pact for Education of Guanajuato that was signed in June 2022 and seek connections between the educational policies of the state Ministry of Education with the 2030 Agenda, as well as support the construction of new alliances between the public, public-private and civil society spheres.
Through the development of educational innovation projects, research and strategic studies, the Laboratory will serve to generate and disseminate relevant knowledge that supports attention to the five priorities of the Social Pact for Education: recovery of learning, stopping school dropouts, teacher training , family participation in school work, and building peaceful, inclusive and safe environments for learning.
These priorities seek to provide continuity to the schooling and recovery of learning for the entity’s students in a post-pandemic context, taking into account the “paths of action” proposed by the World Summit on the Transformation of Education, in particular the youth participation, the “guiding principles of dialogue and action” to renew education and the construction of a new social pact for education outlined by the UNESCO initiative on the Futures of Education, as well as all the goals of the Sustainable Development Goal 4.
The Innovation Laboratory project seeks to address the most pressing educational needs identified by the SEG in the post-pandemic period, coordinating actions around the priorities of the Social Pact for Education, taking advantage of the innovation capabilities that exist in the institutions of the entity and documenting the findings generated in the projects, in order to disseminate good practices that promote the right to education in a context of local and global transformations, and allow policy decision makers to respond with relevance and relevance. educational.
The laboratory will have an internet microsite where specialized information about projects, research products and innovation will be shared. This microsite will host, among other resources, the map of problems and innovations, the work reports of the commissions, the resources and research products of the Laboratory.
