Job Description
Job Background/Overview:
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking an Officer, Program Visits who will design, organize, and implement in-person and virtual program visits for private donors and prospects within IRC’s high-value institutional partnerships fundraising portfolios in accordance with grant requirements and demonstrating the impact of their support toward our fundraising objectives. In this role, the Officer will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with country program teams in Europe, Africa, Middle East, Latin America, and Asia regions, as well as IRC’s domestic programs in cities across the USA.
Since its inception in 1933, the IRC delivers lasting impact to refugees fleeing from war or disaster by offering lifesaving care, life-changing assistance, and empowering individuals and communities to become self-reliant. This role is part of the Global Partnerships and Philanthropic Services (GPPS) team, which aims to provide the High Value Fundraising teams with best-in-class support in a single, unified service model.
The ideal candidate will have experience developing creative and informational materials, and planning events and/or group tours. They will have experience developing working relationships with global teams and managing interdepartmental projects. Proficiency in languages other than English, international travel experience, and donor-facing experience preferred.
Major Responsibilities:
• Lead a portfolio of virtual and in-person visits for IRC’s private institutional partners with whom IRC has or is working toward a grant agreement requiring a program visit.
• In collaboration with key internal and external partners, build thematic, impactful program visits.
• Coordinate with fundraising teams to align program visit objectives with organizational funding priorities and fundraising strategy.
• Partner with program staff to obtain approvals, identify dates and destinations, and develop fit-for-purpose itineraries and budgets.
• Track visit progress in Monday.com, and manage visit marketing and related giving data in Salesforce
• Support fundraisers and funding partners with travel arrangements including, but not limited to,
o Identify suggested flights and hotel accommodations
o Support visa application processes
o Address safety and security concerns
o Hire interpretation and translation vendors to ensure accessibility of clients and global markets to all live and digital assets
o Track trip financials and develop trip fees
• Develop the following materials:
• Invitations
• Donor Briefings
• Security Assessments
• Post-trip Reports
• Presentation decks and speaker briefings for virtual engagements
• Webinar videos
• Creative promotional and marketing materials
• Project management assets, including multi-stakeholder meeting agendas and interactive workplans
• Trip budgets, expense reports, and invoices
• Collect internal and external customer feedback
• Participate in department-wide and team-wide continuous improvement projects as needed
Key Working Relationships:

Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or 4-5 years’ experience/ knowledge
Desired Qualifications:
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills;
• Detail orientated, excels at time-management, multi-tasking and organization;
• Ability to adapt quickly, plan for, prioritize and juggle multiple projects while working in a fast-paced environment as part of a team;
• Exhibits patience and flexibility in response to change;
• Excellent interpersonal skills: the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and diplomatically with colleagues, vendors, and consultants;
• Sound judgment in maintaining confidentiality of donor information;
• Solid digital literacy: ability to work effectively and accurately with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Suite. Knowledge of event and customer relationship management software – experience with Salesforce and/or Blackthorn is a plus.
• Experience leading high-level or international delegations is ideal. Experience with international travel and frontline fundraising is preferred. Proficiency in languages other than English (Spanish, French) is preferred.
Working Environment:
This role may require working remotely or hybrid, and requires domestic and international travel (2-3 weeks per year). If remote, applicants must have a home or alternate workspace they can effectively complete their work from during regularly scheduled hours.
Compensation:
Posted pay ranges apply to US and UK-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
